upper bound,
n. a value greater than or equal to all of a set of given values. For example, in the lattice of subsets of {1, 2, 3, 4, 5} ordered by set inclusion, the least upper bound of {1, 2, 3} and {2, 3, 4} is {1, 2, 3, 4}. Compare lower bound. See also supremum, maximum.
