orientation,
n. the position of a geometric figure relative to a coordinate system; especially, the sense of a directed line. Thus a simple closed curve in the plane may be given either a clockwise or an anticlockwise orientation. In three dimensions, a set of coordinate axes may form a left-handed trihedral or right-handed trihedral, and orientation is reversed in a mirror, as illustrated below. See enantiomorphic. See also direction numbers.

Reflection reverses orientation.
