lower bound,
n. a value less than or equal to all of a set of given values. For example, in the lattice of subsets of {1, 2, 3, 4, 5} ordered by set inclusion, the greatest lower bound of {1, 2, 3} and {2, 3, 4} is {2, 3}. Compare upper bound. See also infimum, minimum.
